Sue Wong’s “Jazz Babies” collection for Spring 2014 continued the Gatsby-inspired 1920s theme from her impressive fall 2013 collection. Wong raised the bar and took it up a few notches with stunning headpieces paired with her usual great mix of short and long styles.

Held on March 22, Sue Wong presented a dynamic collection of luxury cocktail dresses during the El Paseo Fall 2013 Fashion Week in Palm Desert, CA. Her usual array of flapper-style designs was particularly relevant for the theme of her show.  Wong’s collection was inspired by the effervescent exuberance of the jazz age, epitomized by F. The colorful history and folklore of the Philippines of Natori’s youth is what inspired her Spring 2013 RTW collection, which is filled with colorful prints, vivid crayon colors, and the models wore a vibrant flower in their hair to complement the look.

Mix together Emerson, Thoreau, the Conga Room, taiko drums, the 3D Film Festival, cocktails. Sprinkle it with a liberal dose of celebrities, and serve it up in the showbiz capital of the world. What do you get? The Sue Wong Spring 2013 runway show.

With fringed over-sized tanks, a nice combination of pastels (sky blue) and prints, Altuzarra’s Spring 2013 collection had a lot to offer on the runway in New York during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

Mathieu Mirano showed in New York for the very first time at The Box at Lincoln Center last February. His was a presentation full of Chinese inspirations and bold colors of red and shiny gold; other colors consisted of more muted tones ranging from browns, blacks, and blues.

The show finally started with designer Ross Higgins. He was the first out of the gate. He trotted as if on the drug ecstasy, and that, folks, set the precedent for what followed—a parade of models, each more frightful than his or her predecessor. Caligula had nothing on this design team!

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York presented Anna Sui’s Spring 2012 collection with a multitude of inspirations while still managing to figure flatter. I always like attending this fashion show. Why? Because Anna Sui has yet to disappoint me.
