Like elegant swans, the models practically floated above the runway to the ever-so-fitting music, Ravel’s Bolero. Chado Ralph Rucci’s Spring 2012 runway show can be described only as visually breathtaking.

Inspired by the traditional clothes of Korea and botanical plates collected in the eighteenth century, Carolina Herrera’s Spring 2011 Collection is filled with floral prints, calligraphy, wide-brimmed straw hats, wide-legged pants, and floor length skirts.

Unless you read his line sheet, Zang Toi’s Spring 2011 Collection was somewhat perplexing. It was his tribute to the 1956 Oscar-winning film, Giant. A parade of pale pinks, blues, and printed frocks were a throwback from the late 50s celebrating Zang Toi’s peculiar fantasy with cowboys and heiresses. As the first cowboy wearing male model appeared shirtless, I was certainly scratching my head trying to understand when Zang Toi’s theme would become clear.
