“I believe in the power of thought and imagination!” declares our March Face of the Month. Walking down Melrose Avenue, she could easily be pegged as either a rock and roll singer, the girl from your college history class, or a mysterious foreign operative.

Born and raised in the Czech Republic, KristynaKix began modeling when she was just a kid. Winning Miss Bravo Girl 2008, though, led her to work with some bigger agencies and travel the world for her career. On a recent vacation stop in the US, she was introduced to photographer Ash Gupta, who immediately noticed her strong features and distinctive looks.

Photographed in the desert, Ash Gupta and his team shot Furne One’s collection of haute couture designs with the contrast of  elaborate costumes and the remote landscape of the desert, creating a unique editorial both visually and thematically appealing. On Tuesday, December 6th, 2011, Ash Gupta, of 838MG, along with Pam Loar of LA Models and designer Maggie Barry collaborated for a live mega-shoot with plus-size models sure to push the boundaries of fashion. With “Théâtre de la Beauté Classique,” Ash hopes to remind people of a time when being voluptuous was not only the norm, but it was also considered beautiful.

Xian has traveled the world modeling, but prefers Los Angeles. She’s been to Paris, China, and New York, but was pressured to lose weight. “I have two younger sisters who are really impressionable, and I never wanted to be unhealthy to model. It’s not my dream. Acting is. So I moved back to Los Angeles.” She looks up to actress Zoe Saldana because of her impeccable career and ladylike demeanor.

Flash of Flare is a fashion editorial with three models, Kira Dikhtyar, Lili, and Chihiro Niuya shot with a single flare behind each model.

This month, 838MG and Agenda Magazine picked Vision Model Nastassia Lindes to be our Face of the Month. Nastassia has striking features that make her stand out in a room and a personality that is tangible and real.

Summer brought with it a heat wave to Los Angeles, and a wave of creativity to 838MG. The summer months were some of the busiest months at 838MG in a long time, and we were shooting almost every day, sometimes even more than one shoot a day!
