With so much going for her in her acting and fine artist career (oh yeah, she also teaches Bikram Yoga), it’s hard to imagine Samantha having time for anything else. But this focused Renaissance woman is carving her own niche as a jewelry designer with a very unique concept. Her line is called Fleurings.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York presented Anna Sui’s Spring 2012 collection with a multitude of inspirations while still managing to figure flatter. I always like attending this fashion show. Why? Because Anna Sui has yet to disappoint me.

During New York Fashion Week on September 10, Designer Joseph Altuzarra created a classy yet edgy, sophisticated yet futuristic collection, which defined his Spring 2012 line. The vivid colors ranging from vibrant greens, bold yellows, striking whites, and blue accents, colored a variety of styles.

Celebrity stylist Rachael Zoe and Jesse Curlee of Supima hosted the finals of Supima’s fourth annual design competition at Lincoln Center September 8, 2011 during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Among some of the judges were Coco Rocha and Charlotte Ronson. The lineup consisted of eight students from FIT, RISD, SCAD, and Pratt.

On September 8, 2011, Richard Chai’s Love + Men’s Spring 2012 collection was filled with layered separates and odd pairings. For her, short pleated skirt fronts worn apron-style over long pants.

I always enjoy attending Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York and have consistently for the past several seasons, but never before have I been so moved as I was on September 8, 2011 at the South Courtyard at Lincoln Center. As I was in between shows (I just saw Richard Chai’s Spring 2012 collection) I discovered there was a presentation by the nonprofit Fatigues to Fabulous.

Amy Winehouse is best known for the single “Rehab.” Winehouse’s distinctive, yet retro style is mimicked by young female soul singers today; and her short-lived career has made a huge impact deeming her another young legend.
