5th Annual Valentine Romance Oscar Style Lounge & Party at Cafe La Boheme – A Fab Feb Fest!
By Marilyn Anderson | March 12th, 2013 | Category: Gift Guides & Gift Suites | 1 Comment »Why is Feb so Fab? Could it be all the fantastic festivities that take place during that February?! There are all kinds of holidays, like Groundhog Day, Mardi Gras, Presidents Day, and lest we not forget, Valentine’s Day! Then, there are Award shows galore, from the 44th NAACP Image Awards to the 2nd Annual NFL Honors to the GRAMMYS to the OSCARS!
And what goes with all the Award Shows? Gifting Suites! Every year before the Award shows, celebrities and Hollywood VIPs get to eat, drink, and snag swag at various parties around the city where vendors show off their new goodies and “gift” them to the lucky guests.
One of our favorite Gifting Suites this year was Doris Bergman’s 5th Annual Valentine Romance Oscar Style Lounge & Party at Cafe La Boheme. On Wednesday, February 6, 2013, Café La Boheme—world renowned for its 5-star cuisine and stunning interior—opened its Tuscan country villa doors to kick-off this sensational event.
The party was hosted by Qmadix, Whitening Lightning and Nature’s Flavors. Celebrities from film, TV, and the music industry schmoozed and strolled their way through the booths to see the incredible array of items, including stunning jewelry, the finest in beauty and skin care, cutting edge electronics, romantic trips, fashion forward luggage, sexy lingerie, fabulous footwear, gourmet cuisine, delectable taste treats, exotic cocktails, and more!
“This party is amazing!” said former Oscar Winner Martin Landau. “Such love and warmth—amazing gifts, delicious food, a wonderful ambiance—I am very happy to be here!”
Other celebs enjoying the food, fun, and festivities included Hollywood’s beloved Dyan Canon, David Steen from Django Unchained, Rico Rodriguez from Modern Family and his adorable sister Raini Rodriguez, who stars in Austin & Ally on the Disney Channel.
Also in the crowd were Elizabeth DeRazzo from HBO’s Eastbound & Down, funny man Hal Sparks, and from The Artist, Ken Davitian, as well as Diedre Hall, Lisa Ann Warren, Rosa Blasi, Ann Lopez, Angeline Rose Troy, and Nicholas Guest. Over 100 Hollywood Insiders turned out to celebrate this pre-Valentine’s Day party and grab a “sneak peek” at what’s hot for the Oscar Red Carpet.
Speaking of Red Carpets, there were magnificent couture gowns by Monatelier; and men’s handsome suits and accessories by Art Lewin & Co. Custom Clothiers.
We know women can’t hit the Oscars without bags and bling, so they had a chance to view and visit: Lusciouss Jewelry; Twisted Silver; Aditi Jewelry; Carol Lynn Sweets Jewelry; Kara Cham Jewelry; and beautiful bling, evening bags and accessories by Charlie Lapson. I had a chance to chat with this charismatic designer and learn about how he loves helping to empower women all over the world. Thank you, Charlie!
Some of my other favorite items include the wonderful Q-i-sound Stereo Bluetooth Speakers by Qmadix. Hook them up to any of your electronic devices that have Bluetooth capability and—wow—just groove at the fantastic sound!
Whitening Lightning is another one of my absolutely necessary things. I mean, who doesn’t want the whitest smile on the Red Carpet? I love their new ZERO Sensitivity, ZERO Peroxide Dial-A-Smile ZERO WHITE Teeth Whitening System, along with their Super Booster Whitening Pen and their Color Your Smile Lighted Lip Gloss.
Before you go out for your fantastic evening, make sure you sit and soak in a luxurious tub with bath and shower treats by Spongeables. There are all kinds of colors, fragrances, and shapes for beautifying, exfoliating, moisturizing, protecting, massaging, cleansing, and over-all pampering.
For more casual affairs, if you want to dress for fun and be eco-friendly, too, you’ll love the candy-wrapper handbags by Ollin Arm Candy.
Other gifts and services included: My Spa Life; Pauline’s Peanut Brittle; Honest Tea; Caribbean vacations provided by Caribbean Living Magazine; innovative hair design tools by Whirl-a-Style; home décor accents by Bon Bon Home; Kelly Nishimoto; Nature’s Flavors; Undieapads; handbags by Lauren & Luca; luggage by Traveler’s Choice & Pacific Gear; glass-blown hearts by Handmade Hearts; Tequila Azul Imperial; KIND Snacks; Terox footwear; i-Phone 5 cases, iharmonix Stereo Mobile Earphones w/Microphone by Qmadix; and Bully Bling Energy Drink.
In the spirit of giving back, guests donated new and unwrapped gifts for children ages 13-17 for a Pre-Holiday Gift Drive, benefiting “Wednesday’s Child,” a weekly segment airing on KTTV FOX 11 News, Los Angeles, with Anchor Christine Devine. “Wednesday’s Child” highlights “harder to place” children in the LA County foster care system who are in need of adoptive families.
All in all, it was a star-studded, super duper uber event—great people, great food, and a great party! Thanks go to Doris Bergman and Michelle Faulkner, who co-produced the 5th Annual Valentine Romance Oscar Style Lounge & Party at Cafe La Boheme. It was definitely a Fab Feb Fest!
