Who says there’s no such thing as a miracle in a bottle? In our search for a quick fix, to shimmy into that too-tight dress or those jeans that shrunk two sizes in the dryer (yes, it’s ALL the dryer’s fault), we decided to give Sunday Riley’s Liquid Diet a try.
This fairly plain bottle of lotion promises to temporarily eliminate excess water weight with a simple topical application. The label instructed us to use it before a workout or after a shower. In an attempt to maximize results, we did both.
Wow.
This lotion should probably come with a warning label. What the folks at Sunday Riley failed to mention is that all that ‘water weight’ we were looking to shed, had to go somewhere. For us, it was eliminated in the form of good old fashioned waste. We also found that the formula contains caffeine, so using it close to bedtime is probably not a good idea. We tossed and turned for hours before the effects finally wore off and we were able to catch a few hours of sleep.
That’s the bad news. The good news is, this stuff actually works. With the exception of multiple trips to the bathroom, we found that we actually got rid of any ‘bloating’ associated with typical water weight gain. The effect is temporary, but it’s definitely noticeable.
The formula is thin and light, and absorbs very quickly. It smells faintly of lemongrass, but that smell fades a few minutes after application. We also noticed a slight ‘warming’ of the skin. Perhaps that’s the lotion going to work. This lotion also claims to reduce the appearance of cellulite, but we didn’t see any evidence of that. However, in terms of shedding excess water weight, this product exceeded our expectations.
We don’t think that Sunday Riley Liquid diet should be used daily, nor should it take the place of an ‘actual’ healthy diet. But we found that from shimmying into that perfect pair of jeans, to getting ready for a walk down
