LE RÊVE – THE DREAM – A Splashtastic Dream of a Show

Romance on the Road Goes to Vegas!

Le Rêve – The Dream at The Wynn in Las Vegas is a cornucopia of aquatic feats and a visual feast for your eyes.

The evening starts simply: A romantic scene with a girl and a guy as he asks her to marry him.  He leaves and she wonders, “Should I or shouldn’t I?”  The lovely girl falls asleep on a bench, and that’s when the treasure trove of wondrous and magical aquatic athletics takes off.

From high above, a myriad of figures descends. At the same time the stage below opens and water floods in.  One doesn’t know whether to look up or down, right or left as visually thrilling and jaw-dropping athletics abound.

Wynn’s showroom is an intimate theatre-in-the-round—with only twelve rows of seats—each one seemingly the best seat in the house. No matter where you sit, you have an excellent view. The show goes on in front of you, above you, below you, everywhere at once.  There are divers, dancers, kickers, synchronized swimmers, gymnasts, and a circle of high heeled legs protruding from the water as spinning acrobats hang from the rafters above.

Throughout the night, we see the “girl” return, but always followed by one feat after another, each beautifully staged, by performers with extraordinary talent. How do they stay under water so long? How do they hold onto the trapeze with the tip of a wet toe?  How do they avoid getting dizzy?  How does it feel diving into deep water one moment, and the next walking on the same spot? These are some of the questions you ponder as you watch this amazing spectacle.

Forget backstage at Universal Studios, we want to go underwater at Le Rêve. What a wonderful behind-the-scenes tour this would make, sharing how this fascinating and spectacular show comes together. The VIP seats feature monitor screens where guests see some of the underwater assistance from divers, along with other behind-the-scenes activities.

Le Rêve – The Dream features over 90 international performers from 17 different countries. Supporting them are another 140 technical people, including 16 divers, who aid performers under the water.

The phenomenal imagery and brilliant art direction was conceived and created by Franco Dragone, whose signature brand of visually stunning and innovative entertainment is at the core of the production. The Wynn Theater was designed by architect Mark Fisher and design VP for Wynn Resorts, Roger Thomas. Maksim Chmerkovskiy of “Dancing with the Stars” fame choreographed three of the dance scenes.

Spectacle, acrobatics, aquatics, dance, and even a splash of comedy combine to make this an unforgettable evening in Las Vegas. In this case, “what happens in Vegas”….doesn’t stay in Vegas. You’ll want to tell everyone at home to put Le Rêve at the top of their visitor’s list.

Le Rêve – The Dream . . . is a dream of a show. At the Wynn Theater dreams do come true as our sleeping girl finally awakes knowing whether she “should or shouldn’t” and finds her lover beckoning. We watch them swim off into the future together. “It’s a splashtastic fun fantasy for all.
