Furstenberg has always been the type of designer who never misses. Each season her clothes are always impeccably sewn, with intense detailing, and vivid color palettes. The Fall 2011 season is beautiful, except this time, with a little more flair than usual. Many collections this fashion week have used a more “eclectic” styling in their shows, but Furstenberg pulled her newest line off with more than her usual style, adding diverse color and fabric combinations.
“…muses and artists… travelers and settlers… always pushing the boundaries with strength and panache.” –Diane Von Furstenberg and Yvan Mispelaere
Diane Von Furstenberg fused feminine details with hard-edged attitude, as amply displayed by her first look—the Native Hound Silk Jersey Gaucho Jumpsuit—to her last look—Black Sequin Chiffon Wrap Gown. The fall trendsetting color was in the green family (as seen with Zang Toi’s emerald themed collection) and Furstenberg utilized the color with a dynamic look toward the end of her show, Aloe Fur Vest, Mist Washed Charmeuse Shirt, and Green Tea Jersey Gaucho Pants.
Overall, the show was beautiful and was enjoyed by everyone, including front row guests Barbara Walters, Fergie, Molly Sims, and Diane Sawyer. This was an impressive collection and as always, wearable for a variety of styles and occasions.
