How Does Knowing My Heart Rate Help Me Lose Weight?
By Anthony Heredia | December 14th, 2010 | Category: Fitness Couture, Tips | 5 commentsHave you ever noticed something mentioning target heart-rate, fat burning zone, or cardio zone on your gym equipment? When your heart rate is around 60% of your max your body burns a higher portion of fat as fuel, but far fewer calories over all – this is the fat burning zone. Cardio zone is when you push your lungs and body. This uses far more carbohydrates as fuel but five times more calories compared to staying in fat burning zone. Moral of the story? Push hard into the cardio zone; this means you should push your heart rate past your 80% max and maintain it there for the duration of your workout. When your muscles are sore and recovering, they will use fat as a primary source of energy for repairs. So by pushing hard you burn tons of calories and in the end get that fat burning effect after all, plus a lot more calories. To find your heart rate zones simply subtract your age from 220 to find out your 100% max heart rate. So a 30 year old person’s max would be 190 (i.e. 220-30=190) and then simply multiply your max times 0.8 to reach your 80% (i.e. 190×0.8=152). Push hard and the weight will fall off.
Low carb = low cal. That’s why it works. Plain and simple. When you reovme one whole macronutrient from your plate, you reduce your calories by approx 1/3rd. Was nothing to do with food type. You can lose weight eating pasta, or rice, or yams. So long as you run a calorie deficit. I eat lean protein, carbs, fat. I just eat less and I exercise more. I lost 30 lbs in 4 months and kept it off 2 yrs now. Eat from smaller plates. Ur eyes see a full plate, but ur eating less. Go walking too
