Mode Israel “Runway” at Downtown LA Fashion Week
By Agenda Magazine | May 1st, 2010 | Category: Articles, Interviews and Reviews, Fashion, Runway | 1 Comment »The Israeli Consulate presented Mode Israel at MOCA’s Geffen Contemporary, sponsoring seven designers and jewelers during Downtown LA Fashion Week. Each designer had a little something different to offer. The presentation was 80s inspired with monochromatic hues complete with harem pants, leggings, jumpers, and over-sized turtlenecks.
Designers:
Kedem Sasson’s collection consisted of oversize coats and loose-fitting long dresses. Bracha Bar-On, Bet Ka, Yosef Peretz, and Alembika presented trendy, layered styles of blazers and cardigans worn over sheer dresses and leggings. Shai Shalom included menswear in his presentation, which included menswear with body-conscious shirts and slim-cut shorts. Sugar Daddy presented men’s tanks decorated with peace signs and women’s tanks that were sheer and very revealing.
Thank you for this piece!! I always like to know about intercultural and international fashion events. The model above on the far right (Barbora Vesela) is a former student of mine, and I also work with Yotam Solomon, one of the designers who showed with Mode Israel.
